ROMANCE ON THE RIVER

Richie, a James Island native, eyed Brittany on what was supposed to be a girl’s night out and, well, here we are! The pair share many common interests and values, with family being at the top of the list. Family is so treasured by these two that Richie proposed at his family's Thanksgiving dinner. Even Brittany’s sweet mama from Illinois was in attendance!

They were married at Lowndes Grove Plantation, where beautiful scenes are abundant. The estate is surrounded by live oak groves, and the spacious piazza overlooks the sleepy Ashley River. Guests had plenty of room to enjoy the celebration- whether they wanted to socialize under the lit tent, mingle under the stars just outside of the tent, or breathe in the those low country views on the private dock.

The flavor of the day was romantic and warm. The different decor pieces came together with a charming interdependence- each one being essential to the over-all feel. Votives, string lights, candelabras, oh my! The head table could put the Beast’s dining table to shame (no offense, Belle). Long, dark wood tables were decorated with delicate greenery that danced around gold votives, while gorgeous silver candelabras brought the whole look together.

There were so many profound elements scattered throughout the day. Since Brittany was raised soley by her dedicated single mother, it was only appropriate for her mother to be the one to walk her down the aisle. In an act that was full of great symbolism, Brittany’s beloved mother quite literally gave away her most treasured possession to be loved by another. The amount of love and trust between couple and mother is clear, and it is a precious thing.

In that same sentimental vein, Brittany and Richie released memory lanterns to honor the bride’s god father and uncle, as well as the groom’s grandfather. Richie dedicated a song to his newly widowed grandmother, sharing a special dance at the reception.

The families were confident that their recently departed loved ones were watching over the celebration, and I don’t doubt it for a minute.

Brittany and Richie radiate with such passion and joy! The euphoria and excitement of love and new beginnings was written all over these two.
