Here at YOJ, it is no secret that we love love!! We are so excited for our newlyweds to spend their first Valentine's Day together as a married couple, and for our past couples to spend another one together! People who are familiar with Charleston, know this is a foodie town. In fact, according to the Holy City Sinner, 95 restaurants opened in 2017...who knew we had enough space?! So, we have put a list together of ten romantic (and delicious!) restaurants in Charleston if you are needing a little help finding a good spot this Valentine's Day.

82 Queen

With it's intimate courtyard and southern cuisine, the staff at 82 Queen leaves you with a lasting impression and tingling tastebuds. Whether you're in the mood for Carolina Crab Cakes, Shrimp + Grits, Filet Mignon, or Ribeye cooked just right; Chef Steve Stone perfectly creates meals that do not disappoint. Located on Queen street, all guests are made to feel like royalty with their high-end service.

Blossom

If you didn't already know about Charleston's amazing seafood options, you should come here and find out why. Chef Adam Close sources their amazing menu items from local fishermen and farmers, which we love! Setting a wonderful example of "farm to table", Blossom perfectly curates wonderful American cuisine highlighting the best Lowcountry seafood. From their Oak Roasted Fish Tacos, Wood Oven Pizzas, Southern Seafood Platters, to "Blossom's Favorites"...should we make your reservation for two?

Charleston Grill

Located inside of the Belmond Charleston Place, Charleston Grill makes their impression with upscale southern-french cuisine in Charleston. Chef Michelle Weaver creates the most divine dishes on their menu broken up into four categories: Pure, Lush, Southern, and Cosmopolitan. From Thai Fish, Flounder + Shrimp, Norwegian Ocean Trout, to Grilled Domestic Lamb Rack, their cuisine will definitely be a main topic of discussion.

Chez Nous

Even if you have dined here before, chances are you haven't had what is on the menu tonight. While southern cuisine can be found many places, Chez Nous puts their unique twist on delicious France + Europe inspired menu items, and they change them everyday. Guests are welcome to check the menu on their Facebook page, or come hungry and surprised! Some of their delicious offerings are Snapper with tomato + lemon sauce, Roasted carrot salad with pistachio, Polenta & mushroom with poached egg, and also Braised endive with ham de Paris.

Circa 1886

The ambiance of this intimate and charming Lowcountry spot is hard not to fall in love with. Located in the original carriage house of the Wentworth Mansion, dining in a historic setting couldn't be finer. Their cuisine exclusive to the Lowcountry is simply mouth watering, and their Chef's Five Course Tasting Menu is held in the highest regards by many. Chef Marc Collins gives you delectable options such as Piedmontese Beef, Chicken Fried Salmon, Triple Potato Gratin, and Rainbow Trout.

Grill 225

Lovers of wine and steak, you are certainly welcome here! Grill 225's Philosophy is simply "Truth in Beef", dare we say more? With their elegant and romantic atmosphere, it is their mission to serve only the best cuts, seafood, wine, and many other menu items to please guests dining with them. You simply cannot go wrong with their amazing meals such as Crème d’ Crab, USDA Prime New York Strip, Yonges Island Mesclun Salad, and last but certainly not least their Piccata Lobster. If you happen to be staying at the Market Pavilion Hotel, you are in luck because this hot spot resides inside the hotel!

Halls Chophouse

This family owned steakhouse is one locals are always talking about. Located on Upper King, not far from the best shopping in town, your dining experience here will be next to none. They aim to please everyone, with a wide variety of dishes like Kansas City Bone-In New York Strip, Wild Salmon, Split Creek Farm Goat Cheese Ravioli, or a Halls Seafood Tower. Halls has live music every night, so if you're looking for dinner and entertainment, go ahead and make your reservation!

Husk

If you're in town for the history, or simply love living in this historic city, we highly recommend dining in this establishment! Located in a Victorian-era home, Husk is filled with a lot of history and A LOT of delicious food. Their menu is locally sourced, therefore always changing. Southern Cuisine is their specialty, and Chef Sean Brock brings his A game for it. Their locally sourced menu items today would be Carolina Heritage Pork, Mark’s Grouper, Cornmeal Dusted Catfish, and also Confit Duck Leg.

Poogan's Porch

Also located on Queen street, this is another one for you history lovers! Since opening in 1976, Poogan's Porch has been serving some of the best southern cuisine Charleston has ever seen. With their biscuits that melt in your mouth and their delectable sweet tea, this little historic spot is perfect for a romantic dinner. While having the best company for a candlelit dinner, you are able to have you choice of enjoying Calabash Style Fried Seafood, BBQ Mahi-Mahi, Sweet Tea Glazed Salmon, and many other southern dishes. Did I mention it was recognized by Martha Stewart Living?!

Trattoria Lucca

Anyone craving an upscale, delicious Italian meal? Located in a quiet downtown Charleston neighborhood, this intimate and romantic spot seats 50 people. Trattoria Lucca was created by the executive chef, Ken Vedrinski to bring the taste of Italy right to the heart of Charleston. His expertise helps him craft amazing dishes such as Tagliolini, Pappardelle “Grano Arso”, Scallopini of Naturally Raised Veal, and also Grilled Angus Flat Iron.
